Job summary

Genesis Employment Services Ltd is recruiting for an EDM Operator with strong experience in EDM/Wire EDM for an aerospace/general engineering client. A small team environment, exposure to a range of EDM machines, and a flexible salary negotiating depending on skill level are highlighted.

The role requires setting up parts, programming and operating EDM/Wire equipment, and reading engineering drawings to ensure tight tolerances and high accuracy. Pension and 26 days holiday are included.

Qualifications

• Experience in EDM/Wire EDM environments is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and translate to machine setup.
• Capable of programming, setting and operating EDM/wire machines.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail within tight tolerances.
• Strong safety awareness and shop-floor discipline.

Responsibilities

• Set up parts on EDM/Wire EDM machines.
• Operate and monitor machines, ensuring quality and throughput.
• Interprets drawings and translates to machine offsets.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to health and safety standards.
• Work within a small skilled team under busy production demands.

MY CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR AN EDM OPERATOR.

THIS IS AN INTERESTING POSTION WORKING FOR A REPUTALBE COMPANY OFFERING A BESPOKE EDM/WIRE SERVICE WITHIN THE AEROSPACE/GENERAL ENGINEERING INDUSTRY.

MUST HAVE EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE WITHIN AN EDM/WIRE EDM ENVIRONMENT AND RELIABLE WITH FULL COMPETENCE IN THIS SECTOR OF EDM/SPARK/WIRE EROSION.

WE ARE A SMALL TEAM OF SKILLED ENGINEERS THAT WORK CLOSELY TOGETHER.

CORE SKILLS:

• GOOD KNOWLEDGE SETTING PARTS USING CLOCK
• 2D CAD EXPERIENCE ALTHOUGH TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN
• ABILITY TO READ AND INTERPRET ENGINEERING DRAWINGS THEN TRANSLATING TO SETTING UP PARTS ON MACHINES IS A NECESSITY
• ABILITY TO PROGRAMME, SET AND OPERATE VARIOUS EDM/WIRE MACHINES
• PROFICIENT IN WORKING TO TIGHT LIMITS/TOLERANCES AND FINISHES WITH A HIGH LEVEL OF ACCURACY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL
• BEING CAPABLE IN SHOP FLOOR MEASURING EQUIPMENT
• EXCELLENT AWARENESS OF HEALTH AND SAFETY ASPECTS AT WORK
• WORK WELL UNDER PRESSURE AS VERY BUSY SECTIONS

SALARY NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON SKILL LEVEL

HOURS OF WORK

• MON - THURS 6.45 TO 4.00
• FRI 6.45AM - 11.45AM
• OVERTIME AS AND WHEN REQUIRED @ TIME 1/3, WEEKENDS TIME 1/2

26 DAYS HOLIDAY + BANK HOLIDAY
