Job summary

Royal Leamington Spa is seeking an experienced EDM Operator to join a growing, specialist precision engineering team. You will operate EDM machinery to produce aerospace-grade components, following drawings and CNC programs, while maintaining quality and records.

The role offers permanent employment with night shifts and overtime to boost earnings. We value candidates with Makino EDM experience and the ability to read drawings, set tooling, and work to tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating EDM machinery.
• Makino EDM experience would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with other EDM machines will be considered.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Aerospace or precision engineering experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operating EDM machinery to produce precision components.
• Setting and operating EDM machines safely and efficiently.
• Loading and unloading components.
• Following engineering drawings, CNC programmes and work instructions.
• Setting tooling, workholding and machine parameters where required.
• Monitoring machining processes and making adjustments as necessary.
• Carrying out dimensional and visual inspection of components.
• Using precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification.
• Identifying and reporting quality or machining issues.
• Working to tight tolerances and aerospace quality standards.
• Maintaining accurate production and quality records.
• Working efficiently to meet production requirements without compromising quality.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
