To be considered for this role as a Senior Asbestos Surveyor you will live in the East Midlands and be willing to work in our Ilkeston office on a regular basis.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Asbestos Surveyorfor BES Infrastructure, you will be responsible for the management, and successful completion of Asbestos Surveys across a broad range of industries within the UK. Additionally, you will support Structural Inspections and Investigations on a wide range of infrastructure civil engineering assets.

You will:

• Undertake a wide range of Asbestos Surveys including Management Surveys, Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys on Commercial, Residential and Industrial properties
• Responsible for managing the safe and successful delivery of allocated works on site including the management of on-site resources including both internal staff, plant and equipment, as well as managing third party suppliers
• Supporting pre-work planning activities including attendance at pre-site visits, liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of proposed safe systems of work
• Completion of asbestos management surveys, and refurbishment and demolition surveys in accordance with the required technical standards/specifications
• Lead the delivery of internal briefings and awareness of asbestos training with support from the HSQE and Training teams
• Support the ongoing development of other members of staff including the broadening of technical and operational knowledge through mentoring and coaching where appropriate and actively participate in supporting competency assessments
• Support with all external accreditation audits as Technical Expert offering advice and guidance on all asbestos related activities

To join our team, you will need:

• BOHS Qualification P402,P405
• Demonstrable experience in a relevant Asbestos Survey / Engineering / Bridge Inspection position
• Experience of leading on-site teams and managing complex/challenging Asbestos Surveys
• Experience of supervising contractors and third-party suppliers on site desirable
• Demonstrable experience in producing high quality Asbestos Survey reports
• Leadership and management experience
• Level 3 qualification in Engineering / Surveying (or similar), or relevant Bridge Inspection competency desirable
