Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Underwriter in our Wholesale Casualty team in our London Market business.

Our Wholesale Casualty team provides solutions to international clients for complex exposures. Written on both open market and delegated authority basis, we have clients in more than 20 countries. The core territories are Canada and Australia, but we are expanding into Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. We maintain strong relationships with clients seeking long-term partnerships. The portfolio mainly focuses on primary and first excess layers.

What you’ll be doing:

• Underwriting all accounts per Underwriting Guidelines and individual authority levels.
• Focusing on renewal retention and new business growth within a profitable GL portfolio.
• Working with key brokers to develop books of business.
• Monitoring industry and account trends.
• Upholding an excellent underwriting service reputation.
• Engaging with brokers through analysis, meetings, and entertainment.
• Creating marketing materials to support initiatives.
• Providing technical input for product development.
• Responding promptly and professionally to broker and stakeholder inquiries.
• Maintaining good relationships with external parties.
• Contributing to projects aimed at improving underwriting services.
• Ensuring accurate risk, exposure, and premium accounting.
