Head of Product Design / Product Designer Manager / Lead Product Designer - Genuine Product Design / Head of Digital Design / Digital Design Manager

£100,000 - £130,000

We've partnered with a household financial services brand to find their new Head of Product Design for a new business unit focused on improving customer engagement.

This role involves genuine product design, integrating UI & UX, with end-to-end responsibility for creating a sleek, fluid customer experience. The focus is on designing the broader service, not just visuals. We're seeking someone who understands how the entire service looks and how Customer Identity Access Management (CIAM) integrates into this.

Experience Required:

• Leadership experience across Product Design, UX, UI, and Service Design.
• Experience with Digital Verification, Face ID, or Touch ID is highly desirable.
• Experience with B2B/B2C software or applications, especially on mobile platforms, with direct consumer interaction.
• Financial services experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to work closely with Product and Engineering leads, understanding Product Operating Models and Lean Development practices.
• Strong drive for innovation and high standards, balanced with business needs and customer expectations.
• Pragmatic leadership style, capable of managing teams of Designers, UX Researchers, and Creatives.
• Focus on long-term sustainability and reusability in design decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to champion ideas and provide constructive pushback.

Responsibilities:

• Lead product and marketing design functions, collaborating across the company to achieve business goals and leverage brand and product design as differentiators.
• Adopt a Product Operating Model mindset, understanding customer, business, and technical challenges to deliver impactful solutions through rapid prototyping and proof of concepts.
• Empower team members to lead iteration cycles and advance designs aligned with business goals.
• Maintain high communication standards within the team and with stakeholders, managing multiple projects and driving the design philosophy at the executive level.
• Ensure all designs adhere to Brand guidelines and the Design System, maintaining high quality standards.
• Manage team resources, hiring, and budgets, considering cultural and local market impacts in a global team setup.
