An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Nurse to join the Infection Prevention and Control Team at a leading NHS Trust. The role involves managing infections, providing guidance, and supporting clinical staff across multiple sites. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, a nursing degree, and experience in Infection Control.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative Band 6 Nurse to join our Infection Prevention and Control Team. The team is based at the Royal Albert and Edward Infirmary but provides a Trust wide service across 3 main sites and Community Settings.
Ideally, we are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Nurse who possesses good written and verbal communication skills, works well within a team whilst being able to work autonomously. They need to able to influence others, prioritise work and have a flexible approach.
A first level degree in a health-related subject is essential and a post registration qualification in Infection Control is desirable. Applicants should also have had comprehensive general nursing background, experience at band 6 and evidence of teaching.
The successful candidate should be computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office and its applications, as well as having a willingness to learn new systems when necessary.
The role will be varied and includes promoting best practice in Infection prevention and control, providing specialist advice and guidance for staff and patients, partaking in an audit programme, analysing and interpreting data and preparing and delivering reports and implementing national surveillance programmes, the successful candidate will also be required to take part in the on-call rota.

Work with the IPC team in managing healthcare associated infections, support staff in the clinical areas to minimise the transmission of infections. Engage in change and improvement initiatives. This post involves being able to work across all Trust sites and possible community clinical areas.
Be able to problem-solve, assist in decision making and support more senior members of the team in the management of the IPC service.
Can effectively communicate in varying forms with the multi-disciplinary and senior teams.
Manage one's own workload, whilst prioritising time effectively. Be able to audit, interpret and analyse results and feedback these in an understandable way to others.
Assist with the education and development of others.
Practice with evidence-based values and up to date knowledge base.
