We are currently looking for an experienced Buyer to join our team in Canning Town.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work openly and collaboratively with other business units, managing supply chain relationships at Group level for the benefit of the Group.
- Challenge existing framework agreements through engagement with our supply chain to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop relationships with our supply chain to establish and cultivate value beyond cost, providing the Group with a competitive advantage.
- Deliver profit to the bottom line by leveraging expenditure with fewer, better suppliers.
- Procure all goods (materials) on a project-by-project basis.
- Maintain an ethical and consistent approach to the procurement of goods and services.
- Stay informed about developments in local, national, and international supply markets.
- Maintain working relationships with suppliers committed to producing quality materials safely, at competitive prices, and viewing KCSL as a subcontractor of first choice.
- Assist with supplier selection processes.
- Provide comprehensive input into work winning activities.
- Manage and report on project costs versus budgets.
- Support and communicate procurement agreements throughout the Group.
- Control and monitor Preferred List(s).
- Identify supply chain relationships requiring maintenance and nurturing at a local level.
- Resolve preferred supplier selection issues collaboratively as they arise.
- Report weekly and monthly on requirements, ongoing enquiries, trends, or price increases.
- Identify and challenge wasteful or value-inhibiting practices within the supply chain.
- Familiarise fully with the Group IMS processes.
- Ensure all administration complies with standard company procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous buyer experience within the construction industry.
- Relevant CSCS card qualification.
- CIPS Qualification is desirable but not required.
