Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, Emergency Department in Lancaster, is seeking a Clinical Support Worker (NHS AfC Band 3) to provide nursing support under RN/ANP supervision. Training is offered, with duties in basic patient care, observations, minor injuries, and plaster casts.

Shift pattern includes long days, nights, and weekends. Open to applicants with NVQ level 2 in care and basic literacy/numeracy; experience is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in care related area
• Basic literacy & numeracy skills
• Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids

Responsibilities

• Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and the Advanced Nurse Practitioners ( ANPs ) providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the Registered Nurse.
• Provide basic patient care and document that care in the patient records.
• Clinical observations
• Minor injury treatments and plaster casts
