Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay invites applications for a Clinical Support Worker in the Day Surgery Unit at Westmorland General Hospital, Kendal. This NHS AfC Band 3 post is permanent and available as full-time or part-time, offering 37.5 hours per week across day surgery duties and related clinics.

You will work with nurses and clinicians, support patient care, participate in appraisals, maintain safety standards and complete mandatory training.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in care related area.
• Willingness to undertake NVQ level 3 in care related area.
• Previous experience of working with the general public.
• Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Trust Appraisal and Personal Development.
• Plan development needs with clinical supervisor/mentor.
• Report untoward incidents and respond to patient complaints.
• Ensure safe and appropriate clinical practice at all times.
• Assist RNs in benchmarking clinical standards.
• Keep mandatory and competency training up to date.
• Support equality, diversity, rights and quality.
• Contribute to ongoing development of healthcare standards.
