Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist to deliver echocardiography services within the North Middlesex cardiology department. The role requires BSE TTE level 2 accreditation or equivalent and NHS experience.

You will train junior staff, ensure CPD, and support in-patient/out-patient services across an 8am–6pm weekday window, with potential weekend arrangements.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BSE TTE level 2 accreditation or equivalent.
• NHS/Cardiac physiology experience required.
• Evidence of CPD activity and up-to-date knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Personally perform and report echocardiograms to a high standard, following BSE guidelines.
• Mentor and train junior cardiac physiologists and trainees toward BSE accreditation.
• Maintain CPD records and coordinate course requests with the Head of Department.
• Ensure efficient daily running of the echo service and prioritise workloads.
• Monitor equipment, stock levels and infection control in line with safety policies.
• Contribute to departmental audits and service development.
