Job summary

NEWLY QUALIFIED TECHNICIANS ARE WELCOME TO APPLY - FULL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to support the Pharmacy Aseptic Services in providing chemotherapy to patients within the Trust.

We are looking for a qualified technician with experience to join our small, friendly team. You will have recent hospital or aseptic experience, good communication skills, and a solid knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice. Experience in teamwork, staff supervision, training others, and work planning is also required.

The department is highly supportive and encourages creative thinking to improve services, patient experience, and develop new roles, leveraging the strengths and experiences of the team.

Job responsibilities

Note: Newly qualified technicians are welcome to apply - full training will be provided

The key tasks include assisting and supervising the provision of chemotherapy and supportive medication, working under the supervision of the Chief Technician & Accountable Pharmacist.

Main duties
  • Assist in providing a safe, efficient, high-quality aseptic pharmacy service to patients.
  • Assist in dispensing supportive medication safely and efficiently.
  • Encourage adherence to procedures related to aseptic services and GMP.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of procedures, guidelines, and legislation.
  • Participate in writing, reviewing, and updating SOPs and QA documentation.
  • Communicate daily with pharmacists, production, and ward staff to manage workflow.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Problem solve issues such as stock supply, staffing, equipment failures, and capacity planning, ensuring service continuity and safety.
