Operations and Maintenance Engineer in Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

We are currently recruiting for an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, carrying out maintenance and commissioning activities within your designated area. This includes the top of M25, M4, M11 and bottom of M1, A14, M40, A1(M).

Our operations and maintenance teams are critical in delivering our contracts, whether that involves maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works. Help build and maintain the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

Responsibilities of the Operations and Maintenance Engineer include:

• Attending to cable breaks and repairs on copper and fibre cables to keep the network operational.
• Ensuring all equipment commissioning is completed to standard, on time, and within budget.
• Attending to equipment issues within Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets within your area, day or night.
• Undertaking general maintenance, commissioning, and testing of fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing all required documentation promptly.

Candidate Profile:

Previous experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments, is preferred.

Key Requirements:

• Experience working on motorway communications or related systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing, and testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or on call when required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
