The Client

Our client is a global branded food company with a leading UK business in high growth. Their brands are present across various categories and often rank as Number 1 or 2 within their range. They invest heavily in:

  • Consumer Marketing
  • Category Marketing
  • NPD/Food Development
  • Commercial Brand Plans

They now seek to appoint a Senior National Account Manager to lead their retail and discounter customers.

The Role

As the Senior National Account Manager, you will drive growth across the channel. You will be supported by the Sales Director, but the focus is on your ability to deliver and grow the business. The role involves:

  • Networking and influencing throughout the customer matrix (Supply, Marketing, Finance, etc.)
  • Full P&L visibility, including contribution to profit and understanding the impact of commercial decisions
  • Dealing confidently with peers, cross-functional colleagues, and senior management
  • Reasoning and rationalising complex business scenarios, balancing internal strategies and external demands
  • Applying category management principles to influence strategies for growth
  • Negotiating annual joint business plans (JBPs)
  • Driving distribution of existing and new products
  • Managing product mix to maximise margins
  • Communicating NPD and category solutions effectively

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in FMCG brands or own label within a national accounts role. The client is also open to dynamic junior candidates who are leading their peer group and ready for a major challenge.
