Innovation Manager

Location: Horsham

Salary: 55,000 – 64,000 + Hybrid + Brand New Lab + Opportunity to Build A Team + Working Alongside C–Suite + Training + Management & Technical Courses + Industry Specialist

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to lead a rapidly growing UK business that has recently expanded into Europe through cutting-edge research and development of products, processes, and technical operations. As the go-to professional in this pivotal role, you will ensure our client remains at the forefront of a booming industry by driving R&D and supporting industry-first projects such as hydrogen, decarbonisation, and sustainability. Experience in heavy engineering, scientific, or chemical composition is desirable and advantageous for success in this role.

This manufacturer of heavy building materials has established 7 UK sites and an international presence, with recent investment in a state-of-the-art laboratory. As an Innovation Manager, you will collaborate directly with the CEO and the Director of Innovation & Sustainability, ensuring your ideas and initiatives are heard at the highest level. This role offers excellent opportunities for recognition through short-term industry-first projects and the potential to lead your own R&D team in the future.

Your Role as an Innovation Manager Will Include:

• Leading the development and implementation of new materials, processes, products, and technologies
• Driving creative innovation by exploring new and established markets
• Client engagement and strategy development
• Lab and site work

The Successful Innovation Manager Will Need:

• PhD, Degree, or extensive R&D experience
• Background in Aggregate, Building Materials, Ceramics, or Material Science
• Ability to lead and drive initiatives focused on delivery and ROI
• Experience in opportunity mapping, risk assessment, and commercial awareness
