Job description

Job Title: Safety Requirements Engineer

Location: BroadOak, Frimley, Filton, Weymouth or Devonport. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Negotiable - depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

1. Managing all the safety requirements that filter down from the whole boat into combat systems - safety requirements flow down and recording in DOORS.
2. Managing Requirements Decomposition (DSRs / 4SFRs / 5SFRs) once the Safety Team has completed their analysis.
3. Delivering reports to the Senior Engineering Manager regarding the safety requirements process.
4. Liaising with Subsystems, the Safety Team, and Suppliers concerning Safety Requirements.
5. Providing the Safety Team and Subsystems with specialist support in conducting Gap Analyses between Formal Safety Requirements and the Safety Requirements placed on suppliers by the Sub-systems teams.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

1. Experience using DOORS.
2. Experience in safety requirements management, including managing requirements throughout the V cycle as per the INCOSE systems engineering V diagram.
3. Degree or relevant experience in requirements management.
4. Experience with defence contracts.
5. Excellent communication and collaborative engagement skills.

Desirable:

1. Knowledge of Safety FHAs, FTAs, PSSAs, and Safety Fault Schedules.
