Job Opportunity: Structural Designer (Remote, Outside IR35)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Designer to establish a long-term consultancy arrangement with a leading Offshore Engineering Consultancy. This role is remote, project-based, and outside IR35.

Key Skills Required

• Structural AutoCAD Designer with offshore marine experience

Role Overview

As a 2D AutoCAD Designer, you will work on offshore/marine structural projects involving Mobile Offshore Drilling Units, Drillships, Platform Supply Vessels, and other marine vessels in the Petrochemical sector. Your responsibilities include designing GA drawings, detailed design drawings, and materials lists, focusing on structural detailing such as beams, brackets, welds, flanges, and bolted connections to ensure safety and integrity of offshore structures.

Key Requirements

• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD for marine structural projects
• Experience with 3D software like SolidWorks is advantageous but not essential
• Experience with offshore/marine vessels and structures
• Ability to produce GA concept and detailed design drawings, including materials take-offs
• Strong understanding of structural detailing
• Must have own licensed AutoCAD software for fully remote consultancy work
• This position is outside IR35
