Job Summary/Purpose

The Director of Strategy and Data Analytics is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to embed operational strategy development, deep data analytics, and LEAN operating principles across the organization. The goal is to drive operational excellence and deliver premier customer service to meet Entergy’s stakeholder needs. The role involves developing a data-driven approach to understand operational challenges, facilitating process improvements, ensuring compliance with SOX and operational controls, and overseeing financial planning related to customer collections. This senior leadership position supports the Vice President by prioritizing organizational challenges and building relationships with utility leaders and other executives to promote a data-driven culture.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Operational Strategy
  2. Drive operational challenges through collaborative relationships and data-driven insights.
  3. Facilitate problem-solving sessions to address root causes and improve customer experience.
  4. Establish training in LEAN principles and monitor customer service environments for continuous improvement.
  5. Align operational strategies with leadership through research, benchmarking, and technology adoption.
  6. Develop and communicate change management strategies to adapt to customer expectations.
  1. Data Analytics
  2. Design data architecture to optimize insights and decision-making.
  3. Promote analytics that focus on customer needs and operational metrics.
  4. Create business intelligence tools and data warehouses.
  5. Translate complex data into actionable insights and develop visual management tools.
  6. Automate reporting processes and provide timely, accurate metrics for decision-makers.
  1. Organizational Customer Centricity
  2. Develop tools to share operational challenges across the organization.
  3. Ensure operational challenges are addressed with a focus on data-driven solutions.
  4. Identify and implement industry best practices to enhance customer experience.
  1. Performance Oversight
  2. Partner with Finance to oversee budgets and financial models, including uncollectible reserves.
  3. Communicate performance outcomes and maintain transparency with stakeholders.
  1. SOX and Operational Controls
  2. Collaborate with audit teams to establish and maintain controls across Meter to Cash processes.
  3. Develop testing and control plans to address gaps and deficiencies.
  1. Financial Controls
  2. Work with Finance to understand and optimize financial models related to collections and bad debt reserves.
  3. Develop strategies to improve collection actions and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements

Education: Master’s degree or equivalent experience at a director or VP level.

Experience: Over 5 years leading customer service or data analytics functions at an executive level within the utility sector, with strong LEAN experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, leadership, analytical, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills; ability to influence at all organizational levels; deep understanding of LEAN principles and predictive analytics.

Additional Information

No certificates or licenses required. Onsite role with up to 25% travel. Location options include Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Equal opportunity employer.
