Job description

Job Title: Tax and Finance Assistant

Location: Glascoed Wales, and other site locations may be considered, with the expectation of attending the Glascoed site at least twice per month. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £38,500

What you'll be doing:

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate VAT and CIS returns in line with HMRC deadlines and guidance

• Complete VAT reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accounts are accurate

• Manage annual income tax tasks including P11D and Class 1A submissions

• Support corporation tax processes through tax pack reviews and coordination with the Tax Capability Centre

• Prepare and review financial journals and contribute to monthly accounting processes

• Liaise with internal departments to resolve finance-related queries and issues

• Provide support during audits, ensuring compliance and transparent financial practices

• Assist with team leadership by supporting assistant accountants and covering for senior accountants when required

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office in a professional environment, particularly within Excel

• Previous experience working in a finance team, supporting day-to-day financial activities

• Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements

Desirable

• Knowledge of Income Tax and Corporation Tax, with previous experience in these areas

• Part-qualified AAT or ACCA
