We are seeking a keen, dynamic, and committed individual to join our leadership team as an Associate Assistant Headteacher – Key Stage 4. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional, ideally with the ability to teach PE, to make a real impact on the lives of our students during a crucial stage of their education. You will lead on all aspects of pastoral care across Key Stage 4, including the line management of a year group, overseeing student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding. Working closely with Heads of Year and external agencies, you will implement effective strategies to support student development and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
The role also encompasses academic intervention and post-16 transition support. You will collaborate with curriculum leaders and teaching staff to monitor progress, identify students at risk of underachievement, and drive targeted strategies that boost engagement and outcomes. A key element of the post involves preparing students for life beyond school, working alongside our careers officer and external partners to deliver a high-quality, structured programme of guidance and events. As part of the wider pastoral leadership team, you will also contribute to whole-school development, lead staff training on key pastoral issues, and report on outcomes to senior leaders and governors.
