Job Description:

Our client is an established and growing IT services and communications organization with an opportunity for an IT Systems Engineer to join their team based out of the offices in Redhill, Surrey.

This role involves providing technical expertise on clients' IT infrastructure and the organization's corporate IT infrastructure, including implementation, management, support, and administration. The role covers server and networking environments.

Experience working within an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment is preferred. Candidates should be eligible for UK SC level security clearance or currently hold SC clearance, with a minimum of 5 years UK residency or a referenceable work history.

Key responsibilities:

• Implementation, management, support, and administration of IT infrastructure including Windows Server, VMWare, IT security, desktop environments, IP networking, routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Build and configure servers, desktops, and networking equipment.
• Adhere to change controls and security policies.
• Participate in a 24/7 support rota once established in the environment.
• Engage in project-based work as required.

Key skills required:

• Degree, HND, or HNC in IT, Engineering, or related field, or 3+ years of equivalent experience.
• MSP background (IT managed service provider).
• Experience with Windows Server 2019/2022 (build, configuration, troubleshooting).
• VMWare experience (build, high availability, configure, troubleshoot).
• Experience with Windows 10/11 desktop environments (build, patching, troubleshooting).
• IT security knowledge (antivirus, firewalls).
• TCP/IP networking skills (routing, switching, firewalls, including layer 7 firewalls).

Additional skills of interest:

• Experience with Endpoint Central, Veeam, PRTG.
• Microsoft certifications.
