Job Description:

Our client, an established and market-leading Managed Service Provider, is currently recruiting an IT Systems Engineer to join their Systems Management team. The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for being an expert on our customer servers and systems, providing technical support for IT equipment on our client's customer environments, our internal corporate and global remote sites.

Key Responsibilities for the IT Systems Engineer:

1. Work as part of the Systems Management team delivering a quality service to our clients’ MSP/MSSP customers on a variety of hardware and software products
2. Building, Configuring and Troubleshooting VMware
3. Be part of the support team for customer user fault finding and solving problems, ensuring you own the problem until resolved, ensuring users are regularly informed of progress and that all issues are logged within the ticketing system
4. Assist with the administration of nominated customer IT equipment and networks, including:
5. Implementation of patches and firmware updates
6. Configuration of the servers/equipment
7. Ensure Backups are completed, and complete a test restore

Skills Required for the IT Systems Engineer:

1. A sound technical knowledge of IT Security (anti-virus, firewalls)
2. VMware build/HA/configure/troubleshooting experience
3. Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts including Routing, Switching, Firewalling, including Layer 7 firewalls
4. A sound technical knowledge and experience of Windows Server 2019/22 build/configure/troubleshooting
5. A sound technical knowledge of core Microsoft Windows 10/11 desktop environments, including building, troubleshooting, patching
