Job Description

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the SMD line(s) to meet production department's needs, achieving all quality standards and production targets. When agreed with the Operations Manager, this role may also assist the R&D department.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC/HND or degree in Electronic, Electrical, or manufacturing-related subject

Acceptable Experience

• Minimum 5 years of knowledge and experience in a similar role
• Understanding and awareness of IPC standards

Core Skills and Experience

• Experience with JUKI and/or Europlacer SMD programmable Pick and Place machines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Soldering skills with rework experience
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work independently to a production schedule
• Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Google Suite

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental guidelines
• Comply with company standards, policies, and procedures
• Operate Surface Mount Technology advanced placement machines, change feeders, identify components, troubleshoot, and correct problems
• Identify electronic component types, including value and polarity
• Use microscopes as required
• Program, debug, set up, operate, and maintain Pick & Place equipment, Reflow Ovens, Screen Printers, and Solder Paste Inspection equipment
• Run and monitor AOI machines
• Produce first-off samples
• Kitting to ensure component availability
• Maintain SMD machinery
• Train and assess SMD operators and other production staff in soldering skills
• Build and test R&D prototypes and samples
• Generate documentation for new products
• Assist QC with quarantined items and repairs
• Perform other duties within the scope of the job
