Position Title
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for routing and scheduling outbound shipments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Negotiate with trucking companies over freight rates and discounts for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Route daily shipments via the most cost-effective or appropriate method.
- Determine whether freight should be sent via UPS or LTL trucking based on delivery requirements, box sizes, customer needs, and cost.
- Fill out trucking Bill of Lading to ensure accurate billing.
- Schedule inbound and outbound trucks.
- Verify freight billing to ensure accuracy and correct billing discrepancies.
- Verify UPS billing and correct errors as necessary.
- Assist with customer service duties.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Expertise in data entry.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Ability to anticipate problems, exercise independent judgment, and make sound decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data entry and logistics and/or a college degree.
- Experience with Excel and Outlook.
- ERP experience.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to access and navigate the production facility.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
