Job summary

HIVED is seeking an Operations Director (East) to lead end‑to‑end performance for the Silvertown/Rainham depot in London. The role combines floor leadership with director‑level responsibilities, owning P&L, hiring, and cross‑functional collaboration with central planning and tech.

You will drive DSP and driver KPIs, labour planning, and performance across on‑road and in‑depot activities, while guiding the relocation project to ensure continuous service.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience leading operations teams.
• Proven ability to manage large frontline teams via managers.
• Experience owning P&L and driving cost efficiencies.
• Experience with org design and hiring decisions, including growing frontline layers.
• Hands‑on operator with strong understanding of unit economics and cost drivers.
• Track record of high impact initiatives in fast‑growth environments.

Responsibilities

• On‑the‑road and in‑depot leadership to achieve KPI targets and SLA.
• Own DSP management, driver capacity, and performance.
• Manage labour planning, inbound, sortation, and dispatch performance.
• Lead site readiness and the Silvertown → Rainham relocation with minimal disruption.
• Build and develop a high‑performing depot team and leadership bench.
• Ensure Health and Safety compliance and full site P&L ownership.
