Job summary

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland is seeking an Earthworks Technician to join our Materials team within the Infrastructure division. You will determine physical properties of earthworks materials, perform in-situ testing on busy sites and conduct laboratory testing when not on site, following British, European and American standards.

Qualifications

• CSCS preferable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Read and understand an earthworks specification.

Responsibilities

• Work on busy earthworks projects performing in-situ testing and laboratory testing when not on site.
• Sampling and scheduling of materials for submission to the laboratory.
• Train colleagues to better their knowledge and enhance team capabilities.
• Demonstrate good organisation ensuring all testing is completed and worksheets filled.
• Read and understand earthworks specifications and standards.
• Maintain great communication with managers and clients.
• Manage time effectively to be on site when required.
• Work to the relevant standards for the tests performed.
