Job summary

PSC Consulting in South Wales is seeking a graduate or early-career Electrical Engineer to join the UK Earthing & Lightning Protection team. You will support the delivery of earthing system studies for HV sites across the UK, participate in site surveys, analysis and design work, and gradually assume more responsibility.

The role combines remote work with site-based engineering, requires a UK driving license, and offers mentoring, flexible working, and development support including pension and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Recent graduate or 1–2 years’ industry experience.
• Understanding of the UK electricity transmission and distribution network.
• Able to produce clear technical reports and documentation.
• Experience with earthing studies or site surveys is a bonus.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of earthing system studies in line with UK standards and DNO requirements.
• Take part in HV site surveys with support from senior team members, including soil resistivity testing and impedance measurements.
• Assist in developing earthing system designs from concepts to detailed designs.
• Produce clear, well-structured technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues to solve engineering problems and support project delivery.
• Support project tracking activities such as actions, risks, issues and schedule.
