Job summary

Toad Hall Nursery Chessington is offering an Early Years Educator Apprenticeship. Start date 31/10/2026, 40-hour week, salary £16,764.80 per year, located in London (KT9 2EP). Gain hands-on experience while working toward a Level 3 childcare qualification in a supportive environment.

You will work in a team, under EYFS guidance, developing practical skills, safeguarding practices, and observational records, with DBS and references as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• GCSE maths and English at grade 4/C or better, or be willing to complete functional skills alongside the apprenticeship.
• Strong interest in working with children to help them develop and grow.
• Demonstrate a good work ethic and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and children, showing respect and care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and evaluate activities for children from birth to about five years.
• Care and education of children in the room within a key person structure.
• Support in ensuring the environment is stimulating and inclusive.
• Assist with daily, weekly and monthly checks around the nursery.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare of children at all times.
• Learn EYFS framework and support qualified staff with routines.
• Develop nursery nursing skills on the job and provide high-quality childcare.
• Understand safety responsibilities and never be left unsupervised with children.
• Contribute observations and records when required.
