Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting an Early Years Teaching Assistant with Level 2 qualifications to support Nursery in the mornings and Reception in the afternoons at a Sutton area primary school.

The role runs full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm, with day rates of £93 for Level 2 and £100 for Level 3+ SEND experience. The position offers support, ongoing CPD access, and potential for longer-term roles.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification minimum required.
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) preferred.
• Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE) expected.
• Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) desirable.
• Level 3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development.
• Level 3 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy - Birth to 7.
• Level 3 Diploma in Playwork.
• Level 3 Award/Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support in Nursery in the morning and Reception in the afternoon across Early Years provision.
• Assist with learning through play, phonics and early communication.
• Encourage social and emotional development and tailored support for children with additional needs.
• Provide proactive and caring support to help young children during early development stages.

Dates: 14/09/2026 - 16/10/2026

Tradewind are supporting a two form entry primary school based in the Sutton area, who require an Early Years Teaching Assistant with at least a Level 2 qualification.The position is supporting in their Nursery class in the morning and Reception class in the afternoon, providing support across their Early Years department.The hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm.We are looking for caring and proactive individuals who can support young children during these vital early stages of development. This role will involve supporting learning through play, assisting with phonics and early communication, encouraging social and emotional development, and providing tailored support for children with additional needs.

Pay

Pay: £93 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 months experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting. £100 per day for candidates who hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 months previous experience supporting pupils with SEND including ASc, ADHD, SEMH or SLD or experience with personal care.
