Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is helping a two form entry primary school in Sutton, South London to recruit an Early Years Teaching Assistant with a Level 2 qualification. The role supports Nursery in the mornings and Reception in the afternoons, 8:30am to 3:30pm, on a fixed-term contract from 14 September 2026 to 16 October 2026.

The successful candidate will help children learn through play, support phonics and early communication, promote social and emotional development, and provide tailored support

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification MINIMUM
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)
• Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE)
• Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development (CCLD)
• Level 3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development
• Level 3 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy - Birth to 7
• Level 3 Diploma in Playwork
• Level 3 Award/Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS)

Early Years Teaching Assistant - Level 2

• Location: Sutton, South London
• Contract: Full-time
• Dates: 14/09/2026 - 16/10/2026

Tradewind are supporting a two form entry primary school based in the Sutton area, who require an Early Years Teaching Assistant with at least a Level 2 qualification.

The position is supporting in their Nursery class in the morning and Reception class in the afternoon, providing support across their Early Years department.

The hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm.

We are looking for caring and proactive individuals who can support young children during these vital early stages of development. This role will involve supporting learning through play, assisting with phonics and early communication, encouraging social and emotional development, and providing tailored support for children with additional needs.

Qualifications:

• Level 2 qualification MINIMUM

Pay

93 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 months experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting. 100 per day for candidates who hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 months previous experience supporting pupils with SEND including ASc, ADHD, SEMH or SLD or experience with personal care.
