Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant with Level 2 qualification to work in a two-form entry primary school near Warlingham, Surrey. You will support in the Nursery, assisting with phonics, play-based learning, and developing social and emotional skills.

Hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm, full-time. Pay £93–£100 per day depending on experience; paediatric first aid and Level 3 EYFS qualifications are required, with a dedicated consultant providing ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 qualification MINIMUM.
• Paediatric first aid trained is required.
• Level 3 EYFS qualifications preferred for progression.

Responsibilities

• Support learning through play and early phonics activities.
• Assist with early communication and social development.
• Provide tailored support for children with additional needs.
• Support in Nursery across the Early Years department.

Early Years Teaching Assistant - Level 2

Location: Warlingham, Surrey / South Croydon

Contract: Full-time

Dates: 14/09/2026 - 16/10/2026

TradeWind are supporting a two-form entry primary school based near the Warlingham area, who require an Early Years Teaching Assistant with at least a Level 2 qualification and paediatric first aid trained. Please do not apply unless you hold both of these qualifications. The position is supporting in their Nursery class, providing support across their Early Years department. The hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm. We are looking for caring and proactive individuals who can support young children during these vital early stages of development. This role will involve supporting learning through play, assisting with phonics and early communication, encouraging social and emotional development, and providing tailored support for children with additional needs.

Qualifications:

• Level 2 qualification MINIMUM
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)
• Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE)

Pay:

• £93 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 months experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting.
• £100 per day for candidates who hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 months previous experience supporting pupils with SEND including ASc, ADHD, SEMH or SLD or experience with personal care.
