Your new company: Hays Recruitment is proud to support a Bristol-based primary school that is at the heart of its local community. They are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant for a long-term, full-time temporary contract that will last the rest of the academic year. This role is based within the reception class.

Your new role: As a teaching assistant within this school, you will join an extremely supportive and welcoming team of like-minded professionals. You will work alongside the reception class teacher and provide a stimulating and engaging learning environment for all pupils by building strong, constructive relationships, aiding in behaviour management, and utilising a variety of learning equipment. You will support the whole class, tailoring your approach to meet individual attainment and physical needs, and adopting a pupil-centred approach to education. You will conduct phonics sessions/interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis and implement a range of positive behaviour strategies. Some pupils may sometimes be disruptive or disengaged; to address this, you will use positive behaviour reinforcement, DOJO, and brain breaks to maintain focus and support learning outcomes.

What you'll need to succeed: To be considered, you must have:

• Full 'Right to Work' in the UK
• Recent referenceable experience supporting pupils aged 4–11
• Experience implementing positive behaviour strategies
