Job summary

Bowesfield Primary School is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Early Years to support pupils across the school. You will work with teachers to plan, deliver, and lead whole-class sessions, ensuring high-quality support and inclusive learning environments.

Ideal candidates hold Level 2 NVQ or equivalent and an Early Years qualification. Experience in school settings, patience, and teamwork are essential to help every child reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 NVQ qualification (or equivalent).
• Hold a qualification in Early Years (or be willing to work towards).
• Has experience supporting children within a school setting.
• Is patient, proactive, and passionate about education.
• Can communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Is committed to helping every child reach their potential.
• Is eager to expand their knowledge, skills and understanding of teaching practices

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to pupils across a range of abilities.
• Assist the staff with supporting pupils during learning activities.
• Support individual pupils where needed.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Build caring, professional relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Have a good understanding of language development
• Have experience of supporting children with SEND
• Have experience of managing children’s behaviour within an agreed system
