Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting Early Years Teaching Assistants to support Nursery and Reception pupils across Manchester and surrounding areas. The role focuses on play-based learning, developing early literacy and numeracy, and building confidence and independence in young learners.

Ideal candidates will have EYFS experience, a Level 2/3 qualification, and a patient, creative approach. Full-time or part-time opportunities with consultant support and potential progression paths are available.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an Early Years, Nursery or Reception setting.
  • Ability to support phonics, early numeracy, and communication development.
  • Patient, nurturing approach with a passion for helping children learn through play.

Responsibilities

  • Support children through play-based learning activities.
  • Assist with early phonics, communication, and numeracy development.
  • Support pupils with routines, transitions and personal development.
  • Help children develop social and emotional skills.
  • Support pupils with SEND or additional needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team.
  • Observe and feed back on pupil progress.

Early Years Teaching Assistant - Reception & Nursery Support

Manchester & Surrounding Areas Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Aspire People

Aspire People are currently recruiting Early Years Teaching Assistants to support Nursery and Reception pupils across a range of primary schools in Manchester and the surrounding areas.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about early childhood development and enjoys helping young children build the confidence, communication, and independence needed for a successful start to school.

The Role May Include:
  • Supporting children through play-based learning activities
  • Assisting with early phonics, communication, and numeracy development
  • Supporting pupils with routines, transitions, and personal development
  • Helping children develop social and emotional skills
  • Supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and independence
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team
  • Observing and feeding back on pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience working in an Early Years, Nursery, or Reception setting
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification is desirable
  • A good understanding of early childhood development
  • A patient, creative, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Confident supporting young children with different needs
  • A genuine passion for helping children learn through play
