Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Lewisham, South East London. You will support Nursery and Reception pupils with phonics, reading and writing activities, delivering engaging learning experiences in a safe, nurturing environment.

The role is full time, term time only, 8:30am to 3:45pm, with a September or October 2026 start. Ideal candidates hold a Level 2/3 CACHE in Childcare or a Level 6/degree, with EYFS knowledge and strong teamwork

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 or 3 CACHE Qualification in Childcare/Supporting Teaching & Learning.
• Or hold a Level 6 or degree within childcare or education.
• Have an understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• Have school-based experience ideally or have experience within private nurseries.
• Have enthusiasm about working in EYFS and with children.
• Work well as a team.
• Good communication.

Responsibilities

• Hours: 8:30am to 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only).
• Work across Nursery and Reception in a primary school setting.
• Carry out Phonics, Spelling, Reading and Writing activities.
• Create a fun, engaging and safe classroom environment.
• Assist with general classroom duties.
• Support mild SEN when needed.
• Provide 1:1 and small group booster sessions.
