Job summary

Academics are recruiting an Early Years Teaching Assistant/Nursery Nurse for a welcoming Primary School in Havering, London. This full-time, term-time role runs 8:30am–3:45pm, across Nursery and Reception, starting September or October 2026 with training opportunities.

Ideal candidates hold a Level 2/3 CACHE in Childcare or a Level 6/degree in childcare or education, understand the EYFS curriculum, and work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 CACHE in Childcare/Supporting Teaching & Learning.
• Level 6 or degree in childcare or education.
• Understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
• School-based experience or private nursery experience.
• Enthusiasm for working in EYFS and with children.
• Able to work well in a team.
• Good communication with staff, pupils and parents.

Responsibilities

• Support phonics, spelling, reading and writing activities.
• Carry out general classroom duties.
• Provide 1:1 and group booster sessions where needed.
• Support mild SEN as required.
• Work across Nursery and Reception within a Primary School setting.
• Create a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
