Job summary

Academics is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant / Nursery Nurse in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. The role is full-time, term-time-only, starting after October half term and lasting until at least July 2027, with excellent training opportunities.

You will work across Nursery & Reception, carrying out phonics and literacy activities, supporting learning and ensuring a safe, engaging environment. School-based experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a CACHE Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare or Teaching & Learning.
• Alternatively, hold a Level 6 qualification or degree in childcare or education.
• Understand the EYFS curriculum and school-based requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support Phonics, Spelling, Reading and Writing activities.
• Create a fun, engaging and safe learning environment.
• Assist with general classroom duties and 1:1/group booster sessions.
• Support mild SEN needs and work as part of a team.

A well-led and supportive Primary School in Amersham, Buckinghamshire are looking to recruit an Early Years Teaching Assistant / Nursery Nurse for after October half term. This is a full-time and long-term role until at least July 2027. Term time only!

• £95-£120 per day (weekly pay of £460-£600)

Early Years Teaching Assistant / Nursery Nurse - Your Role:

• Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
• Hours: 8:30am to 3:45am
• Working across Nursery & Reception in a school setting
• Carrying out Phonics, Spelling, Reading & Writing activities
• Creating a fun, engaging and safe learning environment
• Assisting with general classroom duties
• Supporting mild SEN when needed
• Providing 1:1 and group booster sessions
• Great education and training opportunities

Early Years Teaching Assistant / Nursery Nurse - Ideal Candidate:

• Hold a Level 2 or 3 CACHE Qualification in Childcare / Supporting Teaching & Learning
• Or hold a Level 6 or degree within childcare or education
• Have an understanding of the EYFS curriculum
• Have school-based experience ideally, or experience within private nurseries
• Have enthusiasm for working in EYFS and with children
• Work well as part of a team
• Good communication skills
