Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an Early Years Expert at Hand Advisor to support developmentally young children in settings and schools. You will promote inclusion, welfare and education, working with a skilled team in SEND reform.

The role emphasizes advising settings, signposting to family hubs, and contributing to high-quality inclusive provision. A Level 6 Early Years qualification and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

  • Hold a relevant Level 6 qualification in Early Years (e.g. QEY Teacher, EY Professional) with evidence of SEND professional development.
  • Excellent knowledge of school readiness and how to support settings, schools and families to help developmentally young children.
  • Experience observing and evaluating quality learning and providing feedback to staff.
  • Well developed organisational skills with ability to travel to appointments and venues.

Responsibilities

  • Model strategies and give advice for settings and schools to support developmentally young children.
  • Help schools and childcare sectors develop high quality inclusive provision and curriculum.
  • Offer guidance to parents and professionals meeting SEND needs and signpost to family hubs.
  • Keep records as required by Senior SEND Advisors.
  • Be prepared to travel and work outside normal hours when needed.
  • Attend training courses or meetings as required by the service needs.
