Job summary

Aspiring Aspire People is seeking a dedicated Reception SEN Teaching Assistant for a welcoming Birmingham school. You will support a Reception-aged child with additional needs and work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to help every child reach their potential.

The role is term-time only, five days per week, with a nurturing approach and a focus on creating a safe, inclusive classroom environment. Paediatric First Aid and SEN experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN, including those with complex needs.
• Paediatric First Aid qualification or experience.
• Knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).
• Ability to provide personal care with dignity and sensitivity.
• Strong communication and nurturing approach with young children.

Responsibilities

• Support a Reception-aged child/children with additional needs.
• Implement targets outlined in EHCPs.
• Assist with personal care requirements.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
