Job summary

Ratcliffe College is seeking a warm Reception Teaching Assistant to support early years education in our Prep School. You will work with the Reception Class Teacher to deliver engaging activities and foster a love of learning in a nurturing Catholic environment.

The role is 35 hours per week, term-time only (36 weeks per year), with duties spanning general classroom support, observation, and safeguarding. A proactive, caring approach is essential and prior EYFS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) or relevant childcare qualification.
• Experience in an EYFS or primary setting.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Reception Class Teacher with EYFS learning activities.
• Support individuals and small groups to develop literacy and numeracy.
• Help create a safe, stimulating learning environment.
• Support safeguarding and promote positive behaviour.
