Job summary

Ratcliffe College is seeking a warm, enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join our Preparatory School. The role focuses on supporting early learners within EYFS and KS2 settings, helping children flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

You will work closely with the Class Teacher to deliver engaging activities, support literacy and numeracy, and assist with safeguarding and wellbeing in a Catholic Rosminian environment. This is a term-time, 14-hour/week position.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• TA qualification Level 2 or Level 3 required.
• Experience in EYFS or primary school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with varying learning needs.
• Understanding of child development and EYFS curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
• Supportive of Ratcliffe College's Catholic ethos and values.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with delivering high-quality EYFS learning activities.
• Support individuals and small groups to develop literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning environments.
• Observe, assess and record pupil progress; support safeguarding.
• Promote positive behaviour and model high expectations.
• Supervise pupils during classroom activities, playtimes, and trips as required.
• Contribute to the wider life of the Prep School and College.
