Job summary

Ratcliffe College is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to support our youngest learners in the Preparatory School. You will work closely with the Reception Class Teacher to deliver outstanding early years experiences within a nurturing Catholic ethos, helping children develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above or equivalent.
• Teaching Assistant qualification Level 2 or 3 or relevant childcare qualification.
• Experience with EYFS or primary settings.
• Experience supporting pupils with varying learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Reception Class Teacher in delivering high-quality Early Years activities.
• Support individual pupils and small groups to develop literacy, numeracy and social skills.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning environments.
• Observe, assess and record pupil progress.
• Promote positive behaviour and model high expectations at all times.
• Supervise pupils during activities, playtimes and visits as required.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
