Job summary

Oakengates Nursery School in Oakengates, Telford, seeks a qualified Level 3 EYFS Practitioner to join from January 2027. We provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for 0–5s, where warm relationships and stimulating experiences help every child feel safe, confident and eager to learn.

You will plan engaging, play-based activities, build secure relationships, use observations to plan next steps, support language development, and work closely with families and colleagues in a safeguarding

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
• A warm, patient and inclusive approach, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
• Experience working with young children in an early years or educational setting.
• A recognised Level 3 early years qualification suitable for this role.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide engaging, play-based experiences reflecting children’s interests and supporting their learning across the EYFS.
• Build secure relationships with children, supporting their wellbeing and individual care needs.
• Use observations and assessment to understand development and plan meaningful next steps.
• Support communication and language through responsive interactions, stories, songs and play.
• Adapt provision to include all children, including those with SEND and those learning English as an additional language.
• Work closely with parents, carers and colleagues, sharing information and celebrating children’s progress.
• Maintain a safe, stimulating environment and follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery procedures.
