Job summary

Oakengates Nursery School in Oakengates, Telford invites applications for an Early Years Practitioner. The role focuses on planning engaging, play-based activities within the EYFS and building supportive relationships with children and families.

The post requires a Level 3 EYFS qualification and a warm, inclusive approach. You will work 35 hours per week (8:30am–4:00pm), term-time plus four weeks, on a fixed-term contract starting January 2027.

Qualifications

• Qualified Level 3 EYFS practitioner.
• Experience in early years settings.
• Strong safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide engaging, play-based experiences reflecting children’s interests across EYFS.
• Build secure relationships to support wellbeing, independence and individual care needs.
• Use observations to understand development and plan meaningful next steps.
• Support communication and language through responsive interactions, stories and play.
• Adapt provision to include all children, including those with SEND and EAL.
