Job summary

St Peter’s Catholic Primary School is seeking an Early Childhood Practitioner to join the 2-year-old provision, supporting academic, social, and emotional development. The role focuses on supervising children, assisting with learning activities, and delivering targeted interventions within a Catholic school community.

Hours are 15 per week (Mon-Fri, 2:30pm-5:30pm), term time only plus 5 additional days. Candidates should have Level 2 EY qualification and relevant safeguarding training, with

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Early Years qualification.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent.
• Safeguarding Level 1 and Paediatric First Aid are required or willing to obtain.
• Experience caring for young children in an early years setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist children, including those with SEND, to access learning activities safely.
• Attend to personal care and wellbeing needs while following care plans.
• Deliver targeted learning activities and bespoke interventions (speech, language, phonics).
• Help create learning-enriched environments, prepare resources, and monitor progress.
• Promote safeguarding, confidentiality, and inclusive practice.
• Support the Catholic ethos and wider life of the school community.
