Job summary

Ruskin House Nursery in Herne Hill, London is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to join a supportive team and deliver high-quality care and EYFS learning, helping children build confidence and curiosity.

We require a Level 2/3 EY qualification, nursery experience, and strong communication and teamwork. We offer full-time 40-hour contracts or 4-day-per-week options, with salary up to £31,185 and ongoing training across Inspired Learning Group.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (DfE-approved).
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS, child development and safeguarding.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Caring, enthusiastic and positive approach to early years education.
• Ability to build warm, trusting relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Willingness to learn, develop and contribute positively to the nursery team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide engaging, play-based learning experiences reflecting individual children’s interests and development stages.
• Create a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.
• Observe, assess and celebrate children’s progress using EYFS to plan next steps.
• Build strong relationships with children, parents and carers and work in partnership to support development.
• Support children’s communication, confidence and wellbeing through nurturing practice.
• Encourage learning through indoor and outdoor experiences and exploration.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of your room and contribute to the wider nursery team.
