Job summary

Roundstone Nursery School in Trowbridge is seeking a part-time practitioner with flexible hours to cover additional shifts as requested.

You will deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 9 months to 5 years, and ensure a safe environment for all. The role emphasises partnership with parents and adherence to EYFS and Ofsted requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 9m - 5 years.
  • Ensure that the preschool nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
  • Develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development.
  • Be responsible for any tasks delegated by the manager or proprietor.
  • Upkeep the ethos of the nursery and provide a positive role model at all times.
  • Actively engage with children at a level deemed necessary for their age, activity, group or needs.
  • Liaise with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
  • Be able to work as part of a team but also use own initiative to assist other staff members or children.
  • Provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, indoors and outdoors, always.
  • Deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
  • Help ensure the preschool nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
  • Work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families.
  • Understand and work to preschool nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
  • Plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the early learning outcomes.
  • Be a key person.
  • Ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments

We are a small growing business located in the heart of Trowbridge, we are looking to recruit a part-tine practitioner with flexibility to work extra hours as requested to cover other staff members.

Your man responsibilities will be

To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 9m - 5 years.

To ensure that the preschool nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.

To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development.

To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the manager or proprietor.

To uphold the ethos of the nursery and provide a positive role model at all times

To actively engage with children at level deemed necessary for their age, activity, group or needs. The practitioner will need to determine the level of engagement needed.

To liase with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.

Be able to work as part of a team but also be able use own initiative to assist other staff members or children.
