Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to join a nursery in Norwich. This full-time role offers flexible shift patterns and an immediate start, with a focus on child-centred learning and the EYFS framework.

You will contribute to an inclusive, supportive environment and work closely with staff, parents, and children. The ideal candidate will hold Level 2/3 EYFS qualification (or equivalent), have nursery experience, and demonstrate excellent communication and patience in a team

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience in a nursery or early years setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
• Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning through play.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress.
• Promote personal, social, and emotional development.
• Support daily routines, including mealtimes and outdoor activities.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare requirements are met.

Hereis a highly regarded early years provision offering a stimulating and child-centred learning environment for children aged 2 to 5 years. The setting is committed to fostering independence, curiosity, creativity, and confidence through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

In its most recent Ofsted inspection, the setting was judged Good, reflecting the quality of care, teaching, and learning opportunities available to children.

Duties as an Early Years Practitioner:

• Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
• Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning through play
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress
• Promote children's personal, social, and emotional development
• Support daily routines, including mealtimes and outdoor activities
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare requirements are met at all times

Ideal Early Years Practitioner:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) desirable
• Previous experience within a nursery or early years setting
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework
• Passion for supporting young children's learning and development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
