Lullaby Lane Nurseries, part of Tigers Group, is an Attachment Led Nursery in Milngavie, Hogganfield, caring for children aged 0-5. The Early Years Practitioner supports safe, nurturing indoor/outdoor environments and collaborates with families to ensure emotional well-being and development.

Responsibilities include planning engaging activities, preparing meals, completing risk assessments and records, observing children, and helping new children settle, with a team that values Love, Curiosity,

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum HNC/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare.
• A current PVG and SSSC registration
• Knowledge of GIRFEC, Pre-Birth to Three and Child Development and be able to give examples of use in practice.

Responsibilities

• Ensure environments are safe, nurturing and engaging indoors and outdoors.
• Meet with families at drop off and pick up times.
• Provide a high level of awareness to transition periods and respond to emotional needs of children and families.
• Plan stimulating and engaging activities for children to thrive.
• Prepare lunch and snacks.
• Undertake risk assessments.
• Complete daily paperwork including risk assessments, registers and room temperatures.
• Complete observations for children and update learning log system.
• Support new children to settle into the nursery environment.
• Complete home visits as appropriate.
• Liaise with families, informing them of activities and exchanging information about progress.

Job role: Early Years Practitioner

Reports to: Nursery Team Leader

Lullaby Lane Nurseries:

Lullaby Lane Nurseries is an Attachment Led Nursery, based in the heart of Milngavie and Hogganfield, specialising in the care of children aged 0-5 years old, the most formative years of a child’s life. There is a wealth of research to indicate the environment a child is exposed to, in the very earliest of years, has an impact on how they develop cognitively, emotionally and socially, which they take with them through into adulthood.

Role of the Early Years Practitioner:

• To ensure our environments are safe, nurturing and engaging both indoors and outdoors
• To meet with our families at drop off and pick up times
• Provide a high level of awareness to transition periods and be responsive to the emotional needs of our children and families during this time
• Plan stimulating and engaging activities for our children to thrive
• Prepare lunch and snacks
• Undertake risk assessments
• Complete daily paperwork, including but not limited to, risk assessments, registers and room temperatures
• Complete observations for our children and update our learning log system
• Be involved in supporting new children to settle into our nursery environment
• Complete home visits as and when appropriate
• Liaise closely with our families, informing them of activities and exchanging information about progress

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Hold a minimum HNC/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare
