Job summary

Falkirk Council is seeking an Early Years Officer to join St Andrew’s Primary School, ELC Class, on a temporary maternity cover for 37 hours per week during term time. You will support high quality play and learning across indoor and outdoor environments and work as part of a caring team.

The ideal candidate will have an HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent), be registered with or seeking registration with the SSSC, and be prepared to gain PVG membership as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in early learning and childcare provision and procedures.
• HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) required.
• SSSC registration or active pursuit of registration.
• PVG scheme membership required or to be obtained.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Officer to join the team at St Andrew’s Primary School, ELC Class on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave.

You will have skills, knowledge and experience of all current Early Learning and Childcare provision and procedures and have a passion for promoting and delivering high quality play and learning both indoors and outdoors.

You will work as an effective team member and establish positive relationships with children and families. You will have knowledge and experience of current early learning and childcare provision and procedures.

With experience of working with children, you will have an HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent. You must be registered with or currently seeking registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

The post is temporary, full time (37 hours, term time) from Monday 26th October until Friday 25th June 2027 initially.
