Job summary

Shooting Stars Hinckley is seeking an Early Years Nursery Practitioner to join our caring team. You will support children's care, learning and wellbeing with a strong EYFS focus.

We welcome applicants with Level 3 EY qualifications and relevant nursery experience. The role is full-time (40 hours) with some flexibility for part-time consideration, and offers competitive pay and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 2 applicants may also be considered).
• Experience in a nursery, preschool or childcare setting is preferred.
• Good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
• Demonstrates commitment to high-quality care and education.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key person for a group of children and build secure attachments.
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities to support learning and development.
• Observe and record children's progress in line with EYFS.
• Provide high-quality care including feeding, changing and personal routines.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety policies and procedures.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Nursery Practitioner you'll play a key role in supporting children's individual care routines, development and wellbeing through meaningful interactions and responsive care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a key person for a group of children
• Building secure attachments and supporting children's emotional wellbeing
• Providing high-quality care, including feeding, changing, sleeping and personal care routines
• Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that support learning and development
• Observing, assessing and recording children's progress in line with the EYFS
• Creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment
• Supporting children's communication, physical development and early social skills
• Working closely with parents and carers to ensure continuity of care and learning
• Following nursery policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, and child welfare
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide exceptional care and education

About You

We would love to hear from candidates who;

• Hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 2 applicants may also be considered)
• Have experience working within a nursery, preschool or childcare setting
• Have a good understanding of the EYFS
